Search Engine Optimisation Services

What is Search Engine Optimisation?

Optimising your website for search engines is all about enhancing it in order to meet the criteria which search engines look for in order to sort websites. This sorting will result in your website's ranking on the likes of Google, Yahoo and Ask Jeeves for various keyword phrases.

It is important to constantly monitor your website's rankings as the algorithms search engines use to sort websites change over time.

What are the benefits of Search Engine Optimisation?

Ranking well is massively important because, for so many people (nearly 90%), search engines are the first port of call for finding products and services.

Search Engine Optimisation is worth investing in because it results in pre-qualified leads - people are actively searching for what you provide. It is therefore a very targeted form of advertising, much more so than offline mediums.

With social networking websites growing at a rapid rate, being established on search engines for your target keyword phrases makes your website easy to share (known as viral). Its the new word-of-mouth marketing!

What is the process?

Stage One: Research

After talking to you about your organisation, it's aims and competitors, we go away and compile research providing you with the following information:

How competitive your chosen keyword phrases are

What keyword phrases we would recommend

How much potential traffic you should expect

What rankings you should expect

What elements of your website need changing

How much it would cost to optimise your website

At this stage, the thorough analysis of your website is completely free, with no obligation to start. Get started now by taking the Search Engine Test!

Stage Two: Website

Once the research stage is complete, we would then begin working on your website itself. With your collaboration, we would edit content and, if necessary, add new content to improve the amount of web pages which is advantageous for ranking well.

We would also tidy up the code of your website, removing or re-structuring as necessary in order for your website to be as efficient as possible.

Depending on your budget and requirements, we will also assist with writing articles and blogs on other websites to generate more visitors and assist with the next stage.

Stage Three: Link Building

All links pointing to your website act as 'votes' in that they tell search engines you can be trusted and recommended. This has a direct positive result for rankings. For your website, we will naturally build topic related links to your website over a period of 12 months.

Stage Four: Ongoing Optimisation

As well as consistently building links to your website month by month, we will keep your website's content up to date as search engines appreciate fresh content. It means you stay relevant and will maintain your rankings.

Each month, we will send you a report on last month's rankings for the keyword phrases chosen for the project. Of course, we'll keep in constant contact with you to let you know what we are doing.

How long until I see results?

There are a number of variables that affect how quickly a website's search engine rankings will change. These include:

  1. Age of the website
  2. Competitiveness of your market
  3. If the website is already indexed by search engines
  4. Whether Search Engine Optimisation has already been carried out
  5. If your website is being penalised

The older the website, the better. Generally search engines like older websites because they can be considered more trustworthy. Its likely the website will also already be indexed, so the search engines will pick up changes much quicker than with a new website.

Ultimately, if your market is very competitive then it will take longer to rank well. It will involve more work which will subsequently affect costs of the project.

By taking the Search Engine Test, we can get an insight into your market, showing how competitive it is to rank well for your chosen keyword phrases.

If your website has already had some Search Engine Optimisation work carried out, it could be assist or harm or efforts. If 'blackhat' techniques have been used, your website may be penalised which would explain why it is not currently ranking well.

At Webtacular, we do things ethically. We do not try to manipulate, but to optimise websites according to guidelines set out by Google. We strive to carry out Search Engine Optimisation the right way, which isn't necessarily the quick way! In the long run this is beneficial as there is no chance of penalisation which will harm both traffic, and potentially, your brand.

How much does Search Engine Optimisation cost?

We know for many organisations the decision to go ahead has to be based on how much the Search Engine Optimisation services cost. What we'd like to emphasise is that Search Engine Optimisation is an investment, not simply 'a cost'!

Search Engine Optimisation brings qualified leads, so the Return on Investment is much higher than other forms of advertising. Once the optimisation work really kicks in, many of our clients earn back what they put after gaining just a few clients.

The cost of a project is entirely unique to each organisation because of the amount of variables involved. Get in touch now and we can give you some indicative costs based on the supply of a few factors.
