Learn how your brand is faring against competitors...
|
Google COO Ben Legg held a
seminar about how to speed up your business in this economic
slowdown. What can I say? It was a treat indeed! In the next four
articles I’ll provide a review of the items covered. I’ll keep
these articles short and simple yet informative for you. The
seminar was split up into 4 sections and here we shall go into
more detail about the first presentation which was about Google “Insights”.
Google Insights for Search is a free tool which
allows you to compare search volumes for your keywords across
specific regions, categories and time frames: |
 |
- Narrowing data to specific categories such as automotive, health, travel, etc.
- Predicting your business demand so you can plan and budget accordingly.
- Knowing where your customers are and how search volume is allocated across cities, regions and countries.
 |
To simplify things ‘in a nut
shell’,
Google Insights shows you how popular you are for your search
term compared to a competitor, which countries are performing the
most searches for the keyword/s you entered, top searches for your
particular keyword/s and rising searches which are becoming more
and more popular.
You can also leave the
Search terms field blank and simply complete the Filter section
for broader results.
|
The layout of
Google Insights is very user friendly and shows the information
graphically in maps, bars and charts. An uncomplicated way of
understanding things! Using this tool is a big advantage when deciding
upon keywords for your website or particular products and services.
Why not go ahead and
try it out for yourself? Just type in anything
you find interesting and see the results!
